Blennerville Windmill is the tallest windmill of its kind it Europe, and the only working one in Ireland. It’s open to visitors and a windmill tour explores its five floors and also demonstrates the grain-milling process. Next to the windmill is a large craft complex. Inside is an audio-visual theatre, an emigration museum, craft workshops, a restaurant and a gift shop. A highlight is The Jeanie Johnston Commemorative Quilt kept in the museum. Designed by the Jeanie Johnston Quilting Circle, it commemorates the tall ship, the Jeanie Johnston, which was built at Biennerville.
