Assaroe Lake

Assaroe Lake is may be artificial but it is still an excellent fishing lake. Under-fished but over stocked, the lake is a good source of large brown trout, bream, roach, salmon and some very big pike. It covers 1100 acres and was created by the Cliff Hydro Schemes and Cathleen Falls. The season runs from early March to the end of September, and a fishing permit is required. The Lake is controlled by the Electricity Supply Board and also known as Lough Erne.
