Argillan Castle is a waterside 18th-century manor with spectacular views of the Irish sea. Set in 80 hectares, its gardens comprise a Victorian Conservatory and rose garden and a walled garden full of herbs, vegetables and native Irish plants. The ground floor of the house and the kitchens are open to visitors and, upstairs, they can see the 17th-century Down Survey maps of Ireland, which formed the Ireland’s first atlas. The house was built in 1738 by Reverand Robert Taylor.
